Article 728-2 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

When, pursuant to an international convention or agreement, a person detained in execution of a sentence handed down by a foreign court is transferred to French territory to serve the part of the sentence remaining to be served there, the execution of the sentence is continued in accordance with the provisions of this code, and in particular this chapter.

Lorsque, en application d’une convention ou d’un accord internationaux, une personne détenue en exécution d’une condamnation prononcée par une juridiction étrangère est transférée sur le territoire français pour y accomplir la partie de la peine restant à subir, l’exécution de la peine est poursuivie conformément aux dispositions du présent code, et notamment du présent chapitre.
