Article A212-170 of the French Sports Code

Candidates aged seventeen or over on the date of entry to the common general training course for teaching, supervision and training in mountain sports may enrol. The enrolment file, the composition of which is set out in appendix II-20, must be submitted to the Ecole nationale des sports de montagne at least two months before the date of enrolment and must include:
1° A certificate of successful completion of the “level 1 civic prevention and first aid” (PSC 1) course or its equivalent;
2° Depending on the case, one of the following certificates of successful completion:
– a certificate of successful completion of the probationary examination for the mountain leader diploma of the state mountaineering certificate (brevet d’Etat d’alpinisme);
– a certificate of successful completion of the technical test for access to the first-degree state instructor’s certificate (brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré), ‘alpine skiing’ option;
– a certificate of successful completion of the technical entrance test for the first-degree state diploma in sports education, “cross-country Nordic skiing” option;
– a certificate of successful completion of the technical entrance test for the state diploma in skiing – national alpine ski instructor;
– a certificate of successful completion of the probationary examination for the state diploma in mountaineering for high mountain guides.

Peuvent s’inscrire à la formation générale commune aux métiers d’enseignement, d’encadrement et d’entraînement des sports de montagne les candidats âgés de dix-sept ans révolus à la date d’entrée en formation. Le dossier d’inscription, dont la composition est fixée en annexe II-20, est déposé auprès de l’Ecole nationale des sports de montagne, deux mois au moins avant la date d’entrée en formation et comprend notamment :
1° L’attestation de réussite à l’unité d’enseignement “prévention et secours civiques de niveau 1” (PSC 1) ou son équivalent ;
2° Selon les cas, l’une des attestations de réussite suivantes :
– l’attestation de réussite à l’examen probatoire du diplôme d’accompagnateur en moyenne montagne du brevet d’Etat d’alpinisme ;
– l’attestation de réussite au test technique d’accès du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré, option “ski alpin” ;
– l’attestation de réussite au test technique d’accès du brevet d’Etat d’éducateur sportif du premier degré, option “ski nordique de fond” ;
– l’attestation de réussite au test technique d’accès du diplôme d’Etat de ski – moniteur national de ski alpin ;
– l’attestation de réussite à l’examen probatoire du diplôme de guide de haute montagne du brevet d’Etat d’alpinisme.
