Article D224-21 of the French Consumer Code

While this does not preclude the voluntary application of any more restrictive rules and the implementation of complementary actions, decided by itself or by the most representative professional body in the value-added services sector, each electronic communications operator, within the meaning of the 6° of article L. 32 of the French Post and Electronic Communications Code, operating one or more value-added numbers, shall check the information present in the tool mentioned in the first paragraph of article L. 224-43 from the first alert and for each subsequent alert. Verification of the information present in the tool takes place within a maximum period of two working days from the day on which the electronic communications operator has been informed of an alert on a number concerning it, in accordance with article D. 224-18.

Sans que cela s’oppose à l’application volontaire d’éventuelles règles plus contraignantes et à la mise en œuvre d’actions complémentaires, décidées par lui-même ou par l’organisme professionnel le plus représentatif du secteur des services à valeur ajoutée, chaque opérateur de communications électroniques, au sens du 6° de l’article L. 32 du code des postes et des communications électroniques, exploitant un ou plusieurs numéros à valeur ajoutée, vérifie les informations présentes dans l’outil mentionné au premier alinéa de l’article L. 224-43 dès le premier signalement et à chaque signalement suivant. La vérification des informations présentes dans l’outil intervient dans un délai maximal de deux jours ouvrés à compter du jour où l’opérateur de communications électroniques a été informé d’un signalement sur un numéro le concernant, conformément à l’article D. 224-18.
