Delegated sports federations may set up a professional league to represent, manage and coordinate the professional sports activities of their affiliated associations and sports companies.
Where, in accordance with the federation’s articles of association, the professional league is an association with a separate legal personality, its articles of association must comply with the provisions laid down by a Conseil d’Etat decree issued after consultation with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee. This decree also determines the relationship between the league and the federation.
The articles of association of the professional league stipulate that the number of full terms of office held by a single president of a professional league may not exceed three.
