Article L217-25 of the French Consumer Code

The provision of after-sales service within the meaning of this chapter means any service relating to the goods sold performed by the seller which is not covered by the legal guarantee and is not provided for by a commercial guarantee. It is the subject of a contract, a copy of which is given to the consumer.

La prestation de service après-vente au sens du présent chapitre s’entend de tout service afférent au bien vendu exécuté par le vendeur ne relevant pas de la garantie légale et n’étant pas prévu par une garantie commerciale. Elle fait l’objet d’un contrat dont un exemplaire est remis au consommateur.
