Article L224-96 of the French Consumer Code

Any professional offering transactions for the purchase of precious metals, in particular gold, silver or platinum, in any form whatsoever, from consumers shall indicate, by display, the prices offered, in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the minister responsible for the economy, issued after consultation with the Conseil national de la consommation.

Tout professionnel proposant des opérations d’achat de métaux précieux, notamment d’or, d’argent ou de platine, sous quelque forme que ce soit, auprès des consommateurs indique, par voie d’affichage, les prix proposés, selon des modalités fixées par arrêté du ministre chargé de l’économie, pris après consultation du Conseil national de la consommation.
