Article L2541-13 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The municipal council audits the accounts for the last financial year and, if it so decides, in the presence of the municipal collector.

It establishes whether the expenditure mandates ordered by the mayor are regular and whether the revenue vouchers are complete.

The mayor may attend the municipal council’s deliberations, but is required to withdraw before the vote.

The municipal collector does not attend the vote.

Le conseil municipal vérifie les comptes du dernier exercice et, s’il en décide ainsi, en présence du receveur municipal.

Il constate si les mandats de dépenses ordonnancés par le maire sont réguliers et si les titres de recettes sont complets.

Le maire peut assister à la délibération du conseil municipal, mais est tenu de se retirer avant le vote.

Le receveur municipal n’assiste pas au vote.
