Article L3142-20 of the French Labour Code

The employee may, with the agreement of his employer, convert this leave into a period of part-time work or split it up. In this case, the employee must notify his employer at least forty-eight hours before the date on which he intends to take each period of leave. This conversion or splitting is granted without delay in the cases mentioned in the third paragraph of article L. 3142-19.

Le salarié peut, avec l’accord de son employeur, transformer ce congé en période d’activité à temps partiel ou le fractionner. Dans cette hypothèse, le salarié doit avertir son employeur au moins quarante-huit heures avant la date à laquelle il entend prendre chaque période de congé. Cette transformation ou ce fractionnement est accordé sans délai dans les cas mentionnés au troisième alinéa de l’article L. 3142-19.
