Article L331-8-1 of the French Sports Code

Declarations of sporting events taking place on public roads within the territory of a single municipality and not involving the participation of motor vehicles are transferred to the mayor of the municipality concerned or to the Préfet de Police in Paris.

The conditions for the application of this article are laid down by decree in the Conseil d’Etat.

Les déclarations des manifestations sportives se déroulant sur la voie publique à l’intérieur du territoire d’une seule commune et ne comportant pas la participation de véhicule à moteur sont transférées au maire de la commune concernée ou au préfet de police à Paris.

Les conditions d’application du présent article sont fixées par décret en Conseil d’Etat.
