Article L3423-8 of the French Labour Code

The minimum monthly remuneration is reduced accordingly when :

1° During the month in question, the employee has worked fewer hours than the contractual working time for one of the following reasons:

a) Suspension of the employment contract, in particular as a result of the employee’s absence or as a result of illness, accident or maternity ;

b) Direct effect of a collective work stoppage;

2° The employment contract began or ended during the month in question.

La rémunération mensuelle minimale est réduite à due concurrence lorsque :

1° Au cours du mois considéré, le travailleur a accompli un nombre d’heures inférieur à la durée contractuelle du travail pour l’un des motifs suivants :

a) Suspension du contrat de travail, notamment par suite d’absence du salarié ou par suite de maladie, d’accident ou de maternité ;

b) Effet direct d’une cessation collective du travail ;

2° Le contrat de travail a débuté ou s’est terminé au cours du mois considéré.
