Article L553-1 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

Asylum seekers who have accepted the material reception conditions proposed in application of article L. 551-9 are entitled to an asylum seeker’s allowance if they meet age and means conditions. Payment of this allowance is ordered by the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration.

Le demandeur d’asile qui a accepté les conditions matérielles d’accueil proposées en application de l’article L. 551-9 bénéficie d’une allocation pour demandeur d’asile s’il satisfait à des conditions d’âge et de ressources. Le versement de cette allocation est ordonné par l’Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration.
