The preparatory operations for the ballot, the voting operations, the vote count and the announcement of the results are carried out under the conditions laid down in Chapter VI of Title I of Book I of the Electoral Code, with the exception of Articles L. 56, L. 58, L. 66, L. 68(second paragraph) and L. 85-1.
For the application of the third paragraph of Article L. 65 of the same Code, the following should be read: “the answers carried” instead of: “les noms portés”; “des feuilles de pointage” for: “lists”; “contradictory answers” instead of: “different lists and names”; “the same answer” instead of: “the same list, the same pair of candidates or the same candidate”.
Ballot papers other than those supplied by the territorial authority that decided to organise the referendum, ballot papers found in the ballot box without an envelope or in an envelope that does not comply with the regulations, ballot papers or envelopes bearing internal or external signs of recognition, ballot papers or envelopes bearing any wording whatsoever shall not be taken into account in the result of the count. They shall be attached to the minutes, together with the non-regulation envelopes, and countersigned by the members of the polling station. Each of the ballot papers or envelopes appended to the minutes shall state the reasons for the appending.
