For the purposes of Article L. 111-4, the following definitions apply:
“Portable computer”: a computer specially designed to be portable and to be able to operate for long periods of time with or without a direct connection to an alternating current source. Laptop computers use an integrated screen with a visible diagonal measurement of at least 22.86 cm (9 inches) and can operate on an integrated battery or other portable power source;
“Tablet computer”: a laptop computer that includes a touch screen and a physical keyboard;
“Slate computer”: a laptop computer that includes an integrated touch screen but lacks an irremovable physical keyboard;
“Mobile so-called thin client computer”: a portable computer that relies on a connection to remote computing resources (computer server, remote workstation) to benefit from basic functionalities and does not have an integrated disk storage medium;
“Multifunction mobile telephone”: an electronic device used for long-range communication on a cellular base station network and with functionalities similar to those of a wireless portable computer primarily intended for battery mode and having a touch-sensitive interface.
