Article R131-26-2 of the French Sports Code

The delegation is granted for a period of four years.

The delegation is granted with effect from 1st January of the second year following that of the Summer Olympic or Paralympic Games.

In the case of sports included in the programme of the Olympic or Paralympic Winter Games or which, although not included in the programme of these Games, are practised mainly in winter, the delegation is granted from 1st January of the year following that of the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.

At the end of the periods defined in the first three paragraphs according to the disciplines concerned, the delegation contract and the order mentioned in article R. 131-26-1 automatically cease to have effect.

Article R131-26-2

La délégation est accordée pour une durée de quatre ans.


La délégation est accordée à compter du 1er janvier de la deuxième année qui suit celle des jeux Olympiques ou Paralympiques d’été.


Lorsqu’il s’agit de disciplines sportives inscrites au programme des jeux Olympiques ou Paralympiques d’hiver ou qui, sans être inscrites au programme de ces jeux, sont pratiquées principalement en hiver, la délégation est accordée à compter du 1er janvier de l’année qui suit celle des jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques d’hiver.


Au terme des périodes définies aux trois premiers alinéas en fonction des disciplines concernées, le contrat de délégation et l’arrêté mentionnés à l’article R. 131-26-1 cessent de plein droit de produire leurs effets.
