Article R1332-2 of the French Labour Code

The sanction provided for in article L. 1332-2 shall be the subject of a written, reasoned decision.
The decision is notified to the employee either by letter delivered against receipt, or by registered letter, within the period of one month provided for in article L. 1332-2.
