I.-The person responsible for a nuclear activity shall appoint at least one radiation protection advisor to assist and advise on all matters relating to the radiation protection of the general public and the environment, as well as those relating to the measures for the collective protection of workers from ionising radiation referred to in Article L. 1333-27.
This advisor is :
1° Either a natural person, referred to as: a person competent in radiation protection, chosen from among the staff of the establishment(s) where the nuclear activity is carried out;
2° Or a legal entity known as a competent radiation protection organisation.
II.-For the basic nuclear installations defined in article L. 593-2 of the Environment Code, the role of radiation protection advisor is entrusted to the organisation mentioned in Article 63-6 of Decree no. 2007-1557 of 2 November 2007 on basic nuclear installations and the control, in terms of nuclear safety, of the transport of radioactive substances.
III – The person responsible for the nuclear activity shall provide the radiation protection advisor with the resources required to carry out his duties. In the event that several radiation protection advisors are appointed, their respective missions are specified by the person in charge of the nuclear activity.
