In order to occupy a management position in a public maternal and child protection establishment or consultation, persons who are not doctors must meet the conditions for practising the profession of nursery nurse.

The same provision applies to private bodies which support or supplement the work of the public authorities in this area and receive financial assistance from the State or local authorities.

However, by way of derogation, the management of antenatal consultations may be entrusted to persons fulfilling the conditions for practising the profession of midwife.

Pour occuper un emploi de direction dans un établissement ou une consultation publics de protection maternelle et infantile, les personnes non médecins doivent remplir les conditions pour exercer la profession de puéricultrice.

La même disposition s’applique à l’égard des organismes privés qui renforcent ou suppléent en ce domaine l’action des pouvoirs publics et bénéficient à ce titre du concours financier de l’Etat ou des collectivités locales.

Toutefois, à titre dérogatoire, la direction des consultations prénatales peut être confiée aux personnes remplissant les conditions d’exercice de la profession de sage-femme.
