Article R2212-12 of the French Public Health Code

Before obtaining the written consent of the woman whose pregnancy age and medical and psycho-social condition allow voluntary interruption of pregnancy, the doctor or midwife shall inform her of the different methods of voluntary interruption of pregnancy and their possible complications.

The doctor or midwife will remind the woman of the possibility of meeting a person who has completed a qualifying course in marital counselling or any other qualified person in an establishment or organisation approved under the conditions set out in article L. 2212-4.

The doctor or midwife provides the woman with full information on contraception and sexually transmitted diseases.

Avant de recueillir le consentement écrit de la femme dont l’âge de la grossesse et dont l’état médical et psycho-social permet la réalisation d’une interruption volontaire de grossesse, le médecin ou la sage-femme l’informe sur les différentes méthodes d’interruption volontaire de grossesse et sur leurs éventuelles complications.

Le médecin ou la sage-femme rappelle à la femme la possibilité de rencontrer une personne ayant satisfait à une formation qualifiante en conseil conjugal ou toute autre personne qualifiée dans un établissement ou organisme agréé dans les conditions prévues à l’article L. 2212-4.

Le médecin ou la sage-femme délivre à la femme une information complète sur la contraception et les maladies sexuellement transmissibles.
