Article R2213-32 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The burial in a private property of the body of a deceased person is authorised by the prefect of the department where the property is located upon certification that the formalities prescribed by Article R. 2213-17 and by articles 78 et seq of the Civil Code have been completed and after the opinion of an approved hydrogeologist. This opinion is not required for the burial of a cinerary urn.

L’inhumation dans une propriété particulière du corps d’une personne décédée est autorisée par le préfet du département où est située cette propriété sur attestation que les formalités prescrites par l’article R. 2213-17 et par les articles 78 et suivants du code civil ont été accomplies et après avis d’un hydrogéologue agréé. Cet avis n’est pas requis pour l’inhumation d’une urne cinéraire.
