Article R232-88-1 of the French Sports Code

The athlete may apply for Provisional Suspension under article L. 232-23-4 within ten days of waiving the B Sample analysis, notification of the B Sample analysis report or notification of any anti-doping rule violation. He may apply for provisional suspension after the expiry of this period provided he has not taken part in a sporting event since that date.

Other persons may apply for provisional suspension no later than ten days from receipt of the information provided for in article R. 232-88.

Decisions imposing Provisional Suspension, requests for Provisional Suspension and decisions ending Provisional Suspension are notified by the French Anti-Doping Agency, by any means, to the World Anti-Doping Agency, the International Federation concerned and, where applicable, to the foreign National Anti-Doping Organisation concerned as well as to the International Olympic Committee or the International Paralympic Committee when the decision may have an effect in relation to the Olympic or Paralympic Games, in particular by affecting the possibility of participating in them. Subject to the requirements of an investigation or disciplinary procedure, decisions and requests concerning provisional suspensions shall be notified to the sports federations and professional leagues concerned by any means that can be used to prove receipt.

Article R232-88-1

Le sportif peut demander la suspension provisoire prévue à l’article L. 232-23-4 dans un délai de dix jours à compter de la renonciation à l’analyse de l’échantillon B, de la notification du rapport d’analyse de l’échantillon B ou de la notification de toute violation des règles relatives à la lutte contre le dopage. Il peut demander la suspension provisoire après l’expiration de ce délai sous réserve de ne pas avoir participé à une manifestation sportive depuis cette date.

Les autres personnes peuvent demander la suspension provisoire au plus tard dix jours à compter de la réception de l’information prévue à l’article R. 232-88.

Les décisions imposant une suspension provisoire, les demandes de suspension provisoire et les décisions mettant fin à une suspension provisoire sont notifiées par l’Agence française de lutte contre le dopage, par tout moyen à l’Agence mondiale antidopage, à la fédération internationale concernée et, le cas échéant, à l’organisation nationale antidopage étrangère concernée ainsi qu’au comité international olympique ou au comité international paralympique lorsque la décision peut avoir un effet en rapport avec les Jeux olympiques ou paralympiques, notamment en affectant la possibilité d’y participer. Sous réserve des nécessités d’une enquête ou d’une procédure disciplinaire, les décisions et demandes en matière de suspension provisoire sont notifiées aux fédérations sportives et aux ligues professionnelles concernées par tout moyen permettant de faire la preuve de leur réception.
