Article R2513-8 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The commander of the Marseilles marine fire brigade is responsible, in the area of jurisdiction provided for under I and II of article L. 2513-3 and for the missions defined in article R. 2513-5, the implementation of all fire-fighting and rescue resources, under the conditions set out in the operational regulations drawn up by the Prefect of Bouches-du-Rhône in accordance with article L. 1424-4 and published in the department’s recueil des actes administratifs.

In the area of jurisdiction mentioned in the previous paragraph, the command of rescue operations, within the meaning of article R. 1424-43, reports to the battalion commander.

This command may be exercised by an officer, naval officer or marine firefighter from the battalion, under the conditions set out in the operational regulations.

Le commandant du bataillon de marins-pompiers de Marseille est chargé, dans la zone de compétence prévue au titre du I et du II de l’article L. 2513-3 et pour les missions définies à l’article R. 2513-5, de la mise en oeuvre de l’ensemble des moyens de secours et de défense contre l’incendie, dans les conditions prévues par un règlement opérationnel arrêté par le préfet des Bouches-du-Rhône conformément à l’article L. 1424-4 et publié au recueil des actes administratifs du département.

Dans la zone de compétence mentionnée à l’alinéa précédent, le commandement des opérations de secours, au sens de l’article R. 1424-43, relève du commandant du bataillon.

Ce commandement peut être exercé par un officier, officier marinier ou marin-pompier du bataillon, dans les conditions fixées par le règlement opérationnel.
