Article R426-18 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

In the case provided for in 1° of article R. 426-16, the duration of the traineeship may not exceed six months where it relates to vocational training.
In the case provided for in 2° of article R. 426-16, the initial duration of the traineeship may not exceed twelve months. The traineeship may be extended only once, without the total duration of the traineeship exceeding eighteen months.
In the case provided for in 3° of article R. 426-16, the initial duration of the traineeship may not exceed six months. The traineeship may be extended for a maximum of six months. A foreign national may claim the benefit of several training agreements, the total duration of which may not exceed twenty-four months.

Dans le cas prévu au 1° de l’article R. 426-16, la durée du stage ne peut pas excéder six mois lorsqu’il relève d’une formation professionnelle.
Dans le cas prévu au 2° de l’article R. 426-16, la durée initiale du stage ne peut pas excéder douze mois. Le stage ne peut être prolongé qu’une seule fois, sans que la durée totale du stage puisse dépasser dix-huit mois.
Dans le cas prévu au 3° de l’article R. 426-16, la durée initiale du stage ne peut pas excéder six mois. Le stage peut être prolongé pour une durée maximale de six mois. Le ressortissant étranger peut prétendre au bénéfice de plusieurs conventions de stage dont la durée totale ne peut excéder vingt-quatre mois.
