Article R512-4 of the French Insurance Code

All intermediaries and ancillary intermediaries apply for registration on the Register of Intermediaries and for registration in the category or categories of intermediary in which they operate. To this end, they must compile a file showing that they meet the conditions for access to the activities in question. The content of this file is set by order of the Minister for the Economy.

For the intermediaries mentioned and intermediaries on an ancillary basis in the categories mentioned in 2°, 3° and 4° of I of article R. 511-2, the registration formalities prescribed in the previous paragraph may be completed by the natural person or legal entity that has given them a mandate. For intermediaries and agents of intermediaries in the categories mentioned in 1° and 4° of the same article, these formalities may be completed by the association mentioned in I of article L. 513-3 to which they belong.

The same intermediary or secondary intermediary may not have more than one registration number.

Article R512-4

Chaque intermédiaire ou intermédiaire à titre accessoire demande son immatriculation sur le registre des intermédiaires et son inscription pour la ou les catégories d’intermédiaires au titre de laquelle ou desquelles il exerce. Il constitue à cet effet un dossier justifiant de la réunion des conditions d’accès aux activités en cause. Le contenu de ce dossier est fixé par arrêté du ministre chargé de l’économie.

Pour les intermédiaires mentionnés et intermédiaires à titre accessoire relevant des catégories mentionnées aux 2°, 3° et 4° du I de l’article R. 511-2, les formalités d’immatriculation prescrites au précédent alinéa peuvent être accomplies par la personne physique ou par la personne morale qui leur a délivré un mandat. Pour les intermédiaires et mandataires d’intermédiaires relevant des catégories mentionnées aux 1° et 4° du même article, ces formalités peuvent être accomplies par l’association mentionnée au I de l’article L. 513-3 à laquelle ils ont adhéré.

Un même intermédiaire ou intermédiaire à titre accessoire ne peut avoir plus d’un numéro d’immatriculation au registre.
