Article R5426-21 of the French Labour Code

The constraint is served on the debtor by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt or by bailiff’s deed. On pain of nullity, the bailiff’s writ or the registered letter shall mention :

1° The reference of the constraint ;

2° The amount of the sums claimed and the nature of the allowances, grants and other benefits in question or the date of the administrative penalty;

3° The time limit within which opposition must be lodged;

4° The address of the competent court and the formalities required for bringing the matter before it.

The bailiff will notify the creditor organisation of the date of service within eight days.

La contrainte est notifiée au débiteur par lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception ou lui est signifiée par acte d’huissier de justice. A peine de nullité, l’acte d’huissier ou la lettre recommandée mentionne :

1° La référence de la contrainte ;

2° Le montant des sommes réclamées et la nature des allocations, aides et autres prestations en cause ou la date de la pénalité administrative ;

3° Le délai dans lequel l’opposition doit être formée ;

4° L’adresse du tribunal compétent et les formes requises pour sa saisine.

L’huissier de justice avise dans les huit jours l’organisme créancier de la date de signification.
