Article R55-4 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

In the event of an adversarial decision handed down in the presence of the convicted person or his representative, the latter will be given, at the end of the hearing, if he so requests, a statement of criminal conviction enabling him to voluntarily pay the fixed procedural fees and, if applicable, the fine within one month to the accounting officer of the Directorate General of Public Finances.

The convicted offender may also request the issue of this statement from the registry of the court that handed down the decision within one month of its pronouncement.

This statement is attached to contradictory decisions to be served and decisions rendered by default when they are served.

The model of the statement of conviction is drawn up jointly by the Keeper of the Seals, Minister of Justice, and the Minister of Finance.

Article R55-4
