I. – The type of patients cared for, adults or children and adolescents, is specified in the application for authorisation and mentioned in the authorisation decision.
If the authorisation decision refers only to the care of adult patients, the holder is not authorised to care for children and adolescents. Conversely, if the authorisation decision refers only to the care of children and adolescents, the holder of the authorisation is not authorised to care for adult patients.
II. – Exceptionally, depending on the needs for care, the holder of an authorisation allowing the care of adult patients may admit minors aged sixteen and over.
Exceptionally and temporarily, in order to ensure continuity of care, the holder of an authorisation for the care of children and adolescents may continue to care for them after they have reached the age of majority if their state of health so warrants.
