An exceptional reduction in sentence, which may amount to up to one-third of the sentence imposed, may be granted to convicted persons whose statements made to the administrative or judicial authorities before or after their conviction have made it possible to stop or avoid the commission of an offence referred to in Articles 706-73,706-73-1 and 706-74. Where these statements have been made by persons sentenced to life imprisonment, an exceptional reduction in the probation period provided for in the ninth paragraph of Article 729, of up to five years, may be granted to them.
These exceptional reductions are granted by the sentence enforcement court in accordance with the procedures set out in Article 712-7.
