Article D2223-126 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The full and alternate members of the national jury responsible for examining candidates for the national thanatopractor diploma are appointed for a period of three years by joint order of the Minister of the Interior and the Minister responsible for Health.

This jury is made up of a representative of the Minister for the Interior, a representative of the Minister for Health, three forensic doctors, anatomopathologists or university medical teachers participating or having participated in the theoretical teaching mentioned in Article D. 2223-122 and six thanatopractitioners.

The same order appoints the chairman of the national jury for three years from among the members of the college of university medical teachers or qualified persons.

In addition, thanatopractor members must be appointed as practical training assessors by the national committee for assessing the practical training of thanatopractors referred to in article D. 2223-123.

Les membres titulaires et suppléants du jury national chargé d’examiner les candidats au diplôme national de thanatopracteur sont nommés pour une durée de trois ans par arrêté conjoint du ministre de l’intérieur et du ministre chargé de la santé.

Ce jury se compose d’un représentant du ministre de l’intérieur, d’un représentant du ministre chargé de la santé, de trois médecins légistes, anatomopathologistes ou enseignants universitaires de médecine participant ou ayant participé à l’enseignement théorique mentionné à l’article D. 2223-122 et de six thanatopracteurs.

Le même arrêté désigne pour trois ans le président du jury national parmi les membres du collège des enseignants universitaires de médecine ou de personnes qualifiées.

En outre, les membres thanatopracteurs sont obligatoirement désignés évaluateurs de la formation pratique par le comité national d’évaluation de la formation pratique des thanatopracteurs mentionné à l’article D. 2223-123.
