Article D2223-86 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

Funeral chambers meeting either French standards or the standards or technical specifications laid down in the regulations of a Member State of the European Union or of a State party to the Agreement establishing the European Economic Area ensuring a recognised equivalent level of protection are presumed to meet the requirements of articles D. 2223-80 à D. 2223-85. The references of these standards and regulations are published in the Journal officiel de la République française.

Les chambres funéraires répondant soit aux normes françaises, soit aux normes ou aux spécifications techniques prévues dans les réglementations d’un Etat membre de l’Union européenne ou d’un Etat partie à l’accord instituant l’Espace économique européen assurant un niveau de protection reconnu équivalent sont présumées respecter les exigences des articles D. 2223-80 à D. 2223-85.
