Article L231-2-3 of the French Sports Code

For the disciplines, listed by decree, which present particular constraints, the issue or renewal of the licence and participation in competitions are subject to the production of a medical certificate dated less than a year ago establishing that there are no contraindications to the practice of the discipline concerned. The issue of this certificate is subject to the completion of a specific medical examination, the characteristics of which are set by order of the ministers responsible for health and sport.

The decree mentioned in the first paragraph is issued after consultation with the sports federations concerned.

The particular constraints mentioned in the first paragraph of this article consist either of constraints linked to the specific environment in which the disciplines take place, within the meaning of article L. 212-2, or constraints linked to the safety or health of the participants. Where appropriate, they take into account the specific characteristics of minors.

Article L231-2-3

Pour les disciplines, énumérées par décret, qui présentent des contraintes particulières, la délivrance ou le renouvellement de la licence ainsi que la participation à des compétitions sont soumis à la production d’un certificat médical datant de moins d’un an établissant l’absence de contre-indication à la pratique de la discipline concernée. La délivrance de ce certificat est subordonnée à la réalisation d’un examen médical spécifique dont les caractéristiques sont fixées par arrêté des ministres chargés de la santé et des sports.

Le décret mentionné au premier alinéa est pris après avis des fédérations sportives concernées.

Les contraintes particulières mentionnées au premier alinéa du présent article consistent soit en des contraintes liées à l’environnement spécifique dans lequel les disciplines se déroulent, au sens de l’article L. 212-2, soit en des contraintes liées à la sécurité ou la santé des pratiquants. Elles tiennent compte, le cas échéant, des spécificités des personnes mineures.
