The sale and distribution of drinks in groups 3 to 5 as defined in article L. 3321-1 is prohibited in stadiums, physical education halls, gymnasiums and, in general, in all establishments for physical and sporting activities.
Exemptions may be granted by the competent administrative authority for facilities located in establishments classified as tourist hotels or in restaurants.
Subject to court decisions that have become final, the mayor may, by decree and under conditions laid down by decree, grant temporary exemptions, for a maximum of forty-eight hours, from the ban on the sale for consumption on the premises or to take away and the distribution of drinks from the third group in stadiums, physical education halls, gymnasiums and establishments for physical and sporting activities as defined by law no. 84-610 of 16 July 1984 relating to the organisation and promotion of physical and sporting activities, in favour of :
a) Sports associations approved in accordance with article L. 121-4 of the French Sports Code, up to a limit of ten authorisations per year for each of these associations that applies for one;
b) Organisers of agricultural events, up to a limit of two annual permits per municipality;
c) Organisers of events of a tourist nature, up to a limit of four annual authorisations, for the benefit of classified resorts and tourist municipalities covered by Section 2 of Chapter III of Title III of Book I of the Tourism Code.
