Article R2223-15 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

When the mayor is aware of the existence of descendants or successors of the concession holders, he shall notify them within eight days of a copy of the official report and give them formal notice to restore the concession to a good state of maintenance.

The notification and formal notice shall be made by a single registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.

Lorsqu’il a connaissance de l’existence de descendants ou successeurs des concessionnaires, le maire leur notifie dans les huit jours copie du procès-verbal et les met en demeure de rétablir la concession en bon état d’entretien.

La notification et la mise en demeure sont faites par une seule lettre recommandée avec demande d’avis de réception.
