The Local Finance Committee is chaired by the High Commissioner of the Republic or his representative, by the President of French Polynesia or his representative and by a mayor elected from among their number by the representatives of the communes or his deputy. They jointly set the date, duration, location and agenda of the committee meetings. They may convene or invite, to be heard by the committee, any person whose opinion they consider useful.
Failing agreement between the three chairmen, the High Commissioner of the Republic alone convenes the committee.
The Local Finance Committee meets at least once a year.
