Article R6123-175 of the French Public Health Code

Psychiatry is practised under the following headings:

1° “Adult psychiatry”, providing care for adults;

2° “Child and adolescent psychiatry”, providing care for children and adolescents from birth to the age of eighteen;

3° “Perinatal psychiatry”, organising joint care for parents and babies, from the preconception and prenatal stages;

4° “Non-consensual care” providing the care referred to in Chapters II and III of Title I of Book II of Part Three of this Code.

L’activité de psychiatrie est exercée suivant les mentions suivantes :


1° Mention “ psychiatrie de l’adulte ” assurant les prises en charge de l’adulte ;


2° Mention “ psychiatrie de l’enfant et de l’adolescent ” assurant les prises en charge de l’enfant et de l’adolescent de la naissance à l’âge de dix-huit ans ;


3° Mention “ psychiatrie périnatale ” organisant les soins conjoints parents-bébés, dès l’antéconceptionnel et le prénatal ;


4° Mention “ soins sans consentement ” assurant les prises en charge visées aux chapitres II et III du titre I du livre II de la troisième partie du présent code.
