The time devoted to training directors elected by the general meeting of shareholders pursuant to Article L. 225-23 and directors elected by employees or appointed pursuant to Article L. 225-27-1 is determined by the Board of Directors, but may not be less than forty hours per year, during the term of office. The Board of Directors, after consultation with the directors concerned, shall determine the training organisation(s) or centre(s) responsible for providing the training. At the end of the training course, the training organisation or centre shall issue a certificate of attendance, which the person concerned shall give to his employer.

The cost of the training, including travel expenses in connection therewith, shall be borne by the company and shall not be taken into account in calculating the sums devoted to continuing training provided for in Book III of Part Six of the Labour Code.
