Orthoprosthetists, chiropodists, ocularists, epithesists and orthopaedic orthotists are subject to rules of good dispensing practice laid down by order of the Minister for Health.
The professionals referred to in Article D. 4364-1 may only carry out their activity in premises reserved for this purpose and comprising at least one area meeting the accessibility requirements for disabled people in accordance with the provisions of Article L. 164-1 of the Construction and Housing Code and the regulations governing 5th category establishments open to the public. When appliances and products are supplied by establishments with one or more sales outlets, each sales outlet must have at least one professional trained and competent under the conditions defined in articles D. 4364-8, D. 4364-9, D. 4364-10 and D. 4364-11 on the days and during the hours when patients receive technical care. This professional may be different from the director or manager of the sales outlet or establishment.
The rental, peddling, itinerant sales, so-called demonstration sales, sales by canvassing or by mail order of orthoprostheses, podo-orthoses, ocular or facial prostheses and products delivered by orthopaedic-orthotists are prohibited.
An orthopaedic surgeon, a chiropodist-orthotist, an ocularist, an epithesist or an orthopaedic surgeon-orthotist may be registered in only one department or only in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.
