The members of the classification committees are appointed, after consultation with the chairman of the classification committee, by order of the Minister for Culture for a period of three years, renewable twice.
A classification committee is formed when at least three of the persons mentioned in article R. 211-26 are present for the viewing mentioned in article R. 211-4.The composition and agenda of classification committee meetings are set by the secretariat mentioned in article R. 211-41.
Members of the Classification Committee may attend meetings of classification committees in an advisory capacity.
In addition to the chairman and deputy chairman of the committee, the film classification committee comprises twenty-seven full members and fifty-four deputy members divided into four colleges.
The Administrative College comprises five full members and ten alternate members representing the Minister for the Interior, the Minister for Justice, the Minister for National Education, the Minister for the Family and the Minister for Youth respectively.
The college of professionals is made up of nine full members and eighteen alternate members chosen by the Minister for Culture from leading figures in the film industry, after consultation with the main organisations or associations in the industry and film critics.
