Selective financial aid is awarded to production companies that do not hold an automatic audiovisual production account for the preparation of audiovisual works that belong to one of the following genres:1° Fiction;2° Animation;3° Creative documentary;4° Audiovisual adaptation of a live performance.
Beneficiaries of financial aid for preparation are production companies that, in addition to the general conditions mentioned in article 311-3, meet the following conditions: 1° Be independent of any publisher of television services and any publisher of on-demand audiovisual media services, according to the following criteria: a) The service publisher does not hold, directly or indirectly, more than 15% of the share capital or voting rights of the production company;…
Only the expenses mentioned in article 311-73 shall be taken into account for the allocation of selective preparation grants.
Financial support for the preparation of projects is awarded on the basis of the artistic quality of the projects submitted and the economic conditions under which they were prepared.
The application must be submitted at least one month before the date of the committee meeting at which the production company wishes it to be considered.
The decision to grant aid is taken after consulting the relevant specialist committee.

For a single audiovisual work, the amount of aid granted may not exceed 40% of the amount of the preparation expenses and may not exceed €100,000.For audiovisual works in the animation genre that are original creations, the 40% limit is raised to 50%.
