Article D594-13 of the French Code of Criminal Procedure

Without prejudice to the possibility for the public prosecutor or the investigating or trial court hearing the case to order, of its own motion or at the request of the civil party, the translation of procedural documents containing information considered essential to the exercise of the civil party’s rights and which are, as such, provided or notified to the civil party pursuant to this code, must be translated pursuant to Article 10-3, if the civil party so requests:

1° Decisions to discontinue proceedings;

2° Orders to dismiss proceedings;

3° Decisions to convict, discharge or acquit.

Sans préjudice de la possibilité pour le procureur de la République ou pour la juridiction d’instruction ou de jugement saisie d’ordonner d’office ou à la demande de la partie civile, la traduction de pièces de procédure contenant des informations considérées comme essentielles à l’exercice de ses droits et qui lui sont, à ce titre, remises ou notifiées en application du présent code, doivent être traduites en application de l’article 10-3, si la partie civile en fait la demande :


1° Les décisions de classement sans suite ;


2° Les ordonnances de non-lieu ;


3° Les décisions de condamnation, de relaxe ou d’acquittement.
