Article L211-11 of the French Tourism Code

The traveller may, by giving reasonable notice to the organiser or retailer on a durable medium before the start of the trip or holiday, transfer the contract to a person who satisfies all the conditions applicable to this contract.

The transferor of the contract and the transferee are jointly and severally liable for payment of the balance of the price as well as any costs, fees or other additional costs incurred by this transfer. The organiser or retailer shall inform the assignor of the actual costs of the assignment. These costs shall not be unreasonable and shall not exceed the cost actually incurred by the organiser or retailer as a result of the assignment of the contract.

The organiser or retailer shall provide the assignor with proof of any additional costs, fees or other charges incurred as a result of the assignment of the contract.

Article L211-11

Le voyageur peut, moyennant un préavis raisonnable adressé à l’organisateur ou au détaillant sur un support durable avant le début du voyage ou du séjour, céder le contrat à une personne satisfaisant à toutes les conditions applicables à ce contrat.

Le cédant du contrat et le cessionnaire sont solidairement responsables du paiement du solde du prix ainsi que des frais, redevances ou autres coûts supplémentaires éventuels occasionnés par cette cession. L’organisateur ou le détaillant informe le cédant des coûts réels de la cession. Ces coûts ne sont pas déraisonnables et n’excèdent pas le coût effectivement supporté par l’organisateur ou par le détaillant en raison de la cession du contrat.

L’organisateur ou le détaillant apporte au cédant la preuve des frais, redevances ou autres coûts supplémentaires occasionnés par la cession du contrat.
