TITLE I: TRAVEL AGENTS AND OTHER TRAVEL AND HOLIDAY SALES OPERATORS

I.-This chapter applies to natural or legal persons who, in the course of their commercial, industrial, craft or liberal profession activity, prepare and sell or offer for sale: 1° Tourist packages; 2° Travel services relating to transport, accommodation, vehicle hire or other travel services that they do not produce themselves. I.-Before the traveller is bound by a contract leading to the preparation of a linked travel service or a corresponding offer, the professional facilitating the linked travel services, including if he is not established in a Member State but directs these activities to France by any means, shall state in a clear, comprehensible and apparent manner that the traveller : 1° Will not benefit from any of the rights applicable…

Natural or legal persons registered in the register referred to inarticle L. 141-3 may rent out furnished accommodation in built-up property, known as seasonal lets, as defined in article 1-1 of the aforementioned law no. 70-9 of 2 January 1970. To carry out this activity, they are subject to article 8 of the same law.

Natural or legal persons registered in the register referred to inarticle L. 141-3 must keep their books and documents available for inspection by authorised agents; they must also mention their registration in the register in their sign, in documents given to third parties and in their advertising.

A declaration by an organiser of a tourist package or by a professional facilitating a tied travel service that he is acting exclusively in his capacity as provider of a travel service, as an intermediary or in any other capacity, or that a package or a tied travel service does not constitute a package or a tied travel service, does not release that organiser or professional from the obligations imposed…
