When a trader contacts a consumer by telephone under the conditions set out in article L. 221-16, the use of a masked number is prohibited.
The number displayed before the call is established pursuant to the first paragraph is assigned to the trader on whose behalf the call is made. If the consumer is called back on this number, the trader must identify himself before any services other than the price of the call are billed.
A joint order of the ministers in charge of consumer affairs and the digital economy, issued after consultation with the Autorité de régulation des communications électroniques, des postes et de la distribution de la presse, defines the number ranges that may not be used as call identifiers by a professional calling a consumer, taking into account the pricing ceiling and the format of these numbers.
