Without prejudice to the specific provisions set out in article R. 2223-77 and regardless of where the body is deposited, the body of a deceased person may not be transported to his or her home, to the home of a member of his or her family or to a funeral home before committal without prior written notification, by any means, to the mayor of the place where the body is deposited, in accordance with the conditions set out in articles R. 2213-8, R. 2213-8-1, R. 2213-9 and R. 2213-11.
The transport of corpses before coffining is carried out using specially equipped vehicles reserved exclusively for mortuary transport and meeting the conditions of articles D. 2223-110 to D. 2223-114.
