Article R2573-34 of the French General Code of Local Authorities

The Local Finance Committee of French Polynesia established by Article 52 of Organic Law no. 2004-192 of 27 February 2004 on the autonomous status of French Polynesia is made up of:

1° Representatives of the State:

a) The High Commissioner of the Republic in French Polynesia or his representative;

b) The Secretary General of the High Commission or his representative;

c) The Director in charge of the Public Finance Department of French Polynesia or his representative;

d) The heads of administrative subdivisions or their representatives;

e) A Director of the High Commission or his representative, appointed by the High Commissioner;

2° The President of French Polynesia or his representative, whom he appoints by decree from within the Government, and a Minister of the Government of French Polynesia or his representative, appointed by the Council of Ministers from among its members;

3° Two representatives to the Assembly of French Polynesia or their alternates;

4° Representatives of the communes:

a) Four mayors for the administrative subdivision of the Windward Islands or their alternates;

b) Two mayors for each of the administrative subdivisions of the Leeward Islands and the Tuamotu-Gambier Islands or their alternates;

c) One mayor for each of the administrative subdivisions of the Austral Islands and the Marquesas Islands or their alternate;

Mayors or deputy mayors alone may be alternates.

5° Two presidents of communes unions or their representatives, who may attend the debates in an advisory capacity.

Le comité des finances locales de la Polynésie française institué par l’article 52 de la loi organique n° 2004-192 du 27 février 2004 portant statut d’autonomie de la Polynésie française est composé :

1° De représentants de l’Etat :

a) Le haut-commissaire de la République en Polynésie française ou son représentant ;

b) Le secrétaire général du haut-commissariat ou son représentant ;

c) Le directeur chargé de la direction des finances publiques de la Polynésie française ou son représentant ;

d) Les chefs de subdivisions administratives ou leurs représentants ;

e) Un directeur du haut-commissariat ou son représentant, nommé par le haut-commissaire ;

2° Du président de la Polynésie française ou de son représentant, qu’il désigne par arrêté au sein du gouvernement, et d’un ministre du gouvernement de la Polynésie française ou de son représentant, désignés par le conseil des ministres en son sein ;

3° De deux représentants à l’assemblée de la Polynésie française ou de leurs suppléants ;

4° De représentants des communes :

a) Quatre maires pour la subdivision administrative des îles du Vent ou leurs suppléants ;

b) Deux maires pour chacune des subdivisions administratives des îles Sous-le-Vent et des îles Tuamotu-Gambier ou leurs suppléants ;

c) Un maire pour chacune des subdivisions administratives des îles Australes et des îles Marquises ou son suppléant ;

Les maires ou les adjoints au maire peuvent seuls être suppléants.

5° De deux présidents de syndicats de communes ou de leurs représentants, qui peuvent assister aux débats avec voix consultative.
