Article R342-25 of the French Tourism Code

During the construction or substantial modification of a ski lift, with the exception of drag lifts, the foundations, anchorages and superstructures of ski lifts, excluding moving parts or parts subject to wear and tear, are subject to a technical inspection covering their design and execution. This inspection is carried out by a technical inspector chosen by the project owner from among the inspectors approved in application of the provisions of article L. 125-3 of the French Construction and Housing Code, in compliance with the rules and subject to the penalties laid down by this code for compulsory technical inspections.

Lors de la construction ou de la modification substantielle d’une remontée mécanique à l’exception des téléskis, les fondations, ancrages et superstructures des remontées mécaniques, à l’exclusion des parties mobiles ou sujettes à l’usure, sont soumis à un contrôle technique portant sur leur conception et leur exécution. Ce contrôle est exercé par un contrôleur technique choisi par le maître d’ouvrage parmi les contrôleurs agréés en application des dispositions de l’article L. 125-3 du code de la construction et de l’habitation, dans le respect des règles et sous les peines fixées en matière de contrôle technique obligatoire par ce code.
