Article 1843-1 of the French Civil Code

The contribution of an asset or a right that is subject to publication in order to be effective against third parties may be published prior to registration and on condition that registration takes place. As from the latter, the effects of the formality are retroactive to the date of its completion.

L’apport d’un bien ou d’un droit soumis à publicité pour son opposabilité aux tiers peut être publié dès avant l’immatriculation et sous la condition que celle-ci intervienne. A compter de celle-ci, les effets de la formalité rétroagissent à la date de son accomplissement.
