The drinking water service regulations organise the procedures for carrying out the inspection provided for by Article L. 2224-12, in compliance with the rules set out in this article.
The service responsible for the inspection informs the subscriber of the date of the inspection no later than seven working days before it takes place.
Only agents appointed by the head of the service are authorised to carry out inspections.
The inspection is carried out in the presence of the subscriber or his representative.
Access to and visits to the premises are limited solely to the requirements of the inspection.
The service notifies the subscriber of the inspection report.
Except in cases covered by article R. 2224-22-5, a new inspection on the same structure and for the same subscriber may not be carried out before a period of five years has expired.
The service regulations set the inspection tariffs, according to the costs incurred in carrying them out.
