When a sports association or society hosts a team from a higher category during an exceptional competition, it is not obliged to bring its equipment up to the technical standards applicable to competitions in which teams from that category take part. Without prejudice to the provisions of the town planning code and the building and housing code applicable to establishments open to the public and subject to the provisions of article L. 312-7 of this code, arenas intended to host sporting events open to the public must be approved.
Any permanent change to the enclosure, its layout or its environment will require a new approval to be issued.
Outdoor sports facilities with a capacity not exceeding 3,000 spectators and indoor sports facilities with a capacity not exceeding 500 spectators are not subject to approval.
Authorisation to open to the public may not be given before the expiry of a period set by regulation.
