Whenever the examination of the mother-to-be or the family history makes it necessary, a medical examination of the father-to-be is also carried out, accompanied, if necessary, by appropriate additional tests and examinations.

The organisations and services responsible for paying family benefits are required to send the doctor in charge of the departmental maternal and child protection service the certificate of the first prenatal medical examination of their beneficiaries within a week. This information must be transmitted in compliance with professional confidentiality.

Unless otherwise provided, the conditions of application of this chapter shall be determined by decree of the Conseil d’Etat.
