The Poison Control Centre participates in the emergency medical aid system provided for in article L. 6432-1. It may intervene, at the request of the Senior Administrator, executive of the Territory and representative of the State, in emergency situations presenting a danger to public health.

The poison control centre is involved in toxicovigilance. To this end: 1° It monitors the development of intoxications that have occurred in the territory and collects all useful data on the subject; 2° It has the task of alerting the senior administrator, the representative of the State and executive of the territory; 3° Notwithstanding the missions of expertise that may be entrusted to it within the framework of a judicial…

In order to carry out the tasks entrusted to it, the Poison Control Centre receives logistical and technical assistance from the Poison Control Centre of the Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Marseille. To this end, the agency signs an agreement with the university hospital centre defining the scope and terms of this collaboration.

When it becomes aware of adverse reactions to a medicinal product or a product for human use mentioned in article L. 5121-1, the poison control centre informs the regional pharmacovigilance centre of the university hospital centre mentioned in article D. 6431-62.

In all cases, the Poison Control Centre telephone service is manned 24 hours a day by a doctor or pharmacist trained in clinical toxicology.

The poison control centre has sufficient premises and equipment to carry out its tasks around the clock. In particular, it has : 1° Means for receiving telephone calls, including lines accessible to the public and specific lines reserved exclusively for liaison with the authorities, with the agency’s call reception and regulation centre and with the university hospital centre’s anti-poison centre referred to in article D. 6431-62; 2° Means of recording…
